Amla (much like Schizandra) has the unique taste properties of the five of the six tastes: sweet, sour, bitter, astringent and pungent, with only salty missing (Schizandra includes all six). Amla is one of the richest source of natural Vitamin C, is heat stable and acts as a protector to the body for many age related conditions. It is often called "the great rejuvenater".
Amla provides many antioxidants, phenols and bioflavonoids and has also been used for energy support. Amla contains essential enzymes, including Superoxide Dismutase, which has been known as one of the most powerful defenses against free radicals.
